Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer the “blended” version of this course?

Unfortunately, no. We only offer the full, 8-hour instructor-led course in a traditional classroom setting with no online component. If you took the online portion of the blended course and need help finding a way to complete the live-fire portion, please contact us.Ā

Does this course satisfy Florida’s training requirements for a carry permit?

Yes. Florida accepts “any National Rifle Association firearms safety or training course” to satisfy the training requirement for concealed weapon license. All students who successfully complete the course will receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor, and that document can be submitted to the State of Florida for the CWL application.

What should I expect in class?

This is an eight-hour course that can be taught in one day (with a lunch break) or split over two days. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook – a helpful resource that is yours to keep. We’ll use that text throughout the several hours of interactive classroom instruction where we learn firearm safety rules, basic operation and nomenclature, and aiming technique. Then we’ll move to the range, where students undergo basic live-fire training and complete a nationally-standardized shooting qualification. You’ll also take a written exam that instructors will then discuss at length to reinforce all the concepts taught throughout the day.
